Compare v2 and v3

Compare prices one hypothetical stay through both rate engines at once and shows you the difference, unit by unit. It is the safety check before you switch a property from Rate Plans to Rate v3 — the point where you confirm that the daily calendar, the length of stay tiers, and the adjustment rules you authored add up to the prices you are already charging.

Nothing here books anything or changes a rate. It is a calculator.

Scenario

Describe the stay you want to test: pick the dates from the range picker, set how many guests are in each age group, and set a pet count. Then Run comparison.

Test the stays that actually reveal differences rather than an easy midweek night:

• A stay that crosses a season boundary, where v2 and v3 divide the nights differently.
• A stay long enough to trigger a length of stay tier, especially a weekly one.
• A party over the unit’s included occupancy, to exercise your occupancy charges.
• A stay with pets, if you charge for them.

Results

One row per unit, with the v2 final price, the v3 final price, and the difference. A banner above the table gives the verdict: either both engines agree on every unit, or it tells you how many disagree.

A dash in the difference column means only one engine quoted that unit at all. That usually means v3 has no rate for some night in the range — check the daily calendar for gaps, since a unit with an unpriced night cannot be quoted.

Some differences are expected rather than wrong. Stays that span a season boundary and weekly pricing that crosses seasons are the two that legitimately diverge, because the engines handle them differently by design. Anything else deserves a look: find the rule or tier responsible, fix it, and re-run.
